OPTION RELEASE
An option release is the release of a previously reserved booking option that has not yet been firmly confirmed. A client had penciled in a model for a specific date and informs the agency that it will no longer hold this option.
The agency then cancels the corresponding reservation. If there are other options for the same date, they can move up according to their ranking. Otherwise, the date becomes available again for new bookings.
An option release can also happen at the agency’s request, for example when another client wants to book the model on a firm basis. The client holding the higher-ranking option is then asked to confirm or release it within a set deadline. Which deadlines and conditions apply depends on the respective booking agreements.
An option release means the date is free again for you, and your agency can use it for other requests. Until you get that message, treat optioned days as if they could become confirmed and don't commit to private plans. Always handle questions about options through your agency, not directly with the client.
