OPEN CALL
An open call is an open casting held by a modeling agency. Within a set time window, aspiring models can introduce themselves in person without an appointment.
The process at a glance:
- Introduction: You drop by the agency’s office, briefly introduce yourself, and do a short casting walk.
- Measurements & photos: The agents take your measurements and shoot natural test photos without makeup (known as “digitals” or “polaroids”).
- The right outfit: Show up in simple, form-fitting clothes (skinny jeans, a plain top) and without makeup.
Important safety note:
Reputable agencies never charge fees for taking part in an open call or for being added to their roster. Open calls also always take place in official agency offices – rarely in hotel lobbies and never in private locations.
