CAN I REVOKE OR TERMINATE A CONTRACT I'VE ALREADY SIGNED?!
That depends on the type of contract and the terms agreed in it. Not every contract can be revoked after it has been signed, and a statutory right of withdrawal doesn’t exist in every case.
As a general rule: legally valid contracts must be honored by both parties. Immediate or early termination is therefore not simply possible. Unless there is a statutory or contractually agreed right of withdrawal, or good cause for extraordinary termination, the agreed terms and notice periods apply. This reflects the general legal principle that agreements must be kept (“pacta sunt servanda”).
Whether, and under what conditions, a contract can be ended early always depends on the specific contract terms and the circumstances of the individual case. For this reason, we recommend reading all contract documents carefully and discussing any open questions with us before you sign.
If you want to end a contract you’ve already signed, please contact us as early as possible. Together, we’ll review the contractual options and look for a fair, professional, and legally sound solution for everyone involved.
