USAGE RIGTHS
Usage rights play a central role in determining compensation for both models and influencers. They specify how, where, and for how long the client may use the created content. As a rule, a clearly defined usage period and scope of use (social media, TV, online, or print) are established in advance.
If a client wishes to use the content beyond the agreed scope – for example, for a longer period, in additional countries, or on other channels – the corresponding rights must be extended retroactively and compensated for accordingly.
The agency is responsible for defining and managing these usage rights, which requires careful monitoring. Here, too, the amount of compensation depends heavily on factors such as reach, duration of use, media channels, and the booker’s negotiating skills.
