The sedcard (often mistakenly called a Z-card, Zed-card, or set-card) is an application document for models to submit to agencies, magazines, or photographers. The internationally used term is compcard. The sedcard is an essential component for every model – it essentially serves as a business card. Regardless of measurements, it contains a selection of the best photos as well as the name and telephone number of the agency that handles further contract negotiations.

The term sedcard is derived from its inventor, Sebastian Sed, the managing director of the British modeling agency Parker-Sed. In the 1960s, he developed a compelling standardization to simplify the selection and booking of international models, which was quickly adopted by other agencies. Despite the closure of Parker-Sed in 1993, the sedcard remains in use. In the USA, Sebastian Sed’s last name was consistently pronounced Zed (in English – Z –  is pronounced like a tonal – s), thus giving rise to the term Zed-card. Sedcard is often incorrectly written as Set-Card, with the term being confused with expressions such as film set or photo set.
