JOUR FIXE
A jour fixe is a regularly recurring meeting – in American terms, a standing meeting – where specific people check in on their ongoing collaboration. The term comes from French and means “fixed day.” For example, agency and talent meet every Monday morning – in person, by phone, or on a video call.
The fixed slot makes sure that questions, decisions, and problems are discussed regularly instead of getting lost between individual messages.
For models, a jour fixe with the booker or mother agency can cover topics such as:
- Upcoming castings, options, and confirmed bookings.
- Client feedback and experiences from past jobs.
- New pictures, digitals, or changes to the portfolio.
- Possible placements and further career planning.
- Your own wishes, availability, and any difficulties in the collaboration.
For influencers, it might cover points like these:
- Planned posts, Reels, videos, and topics.
- New collaboration requests and brands that are a good fit.
- Briefings, deadlines, and pending approvals.
- Reviewing published content: What does the community care about, and what works less well?
- Dividing tasks between creator, management, and production.
A concrete example: You meet with your management every week to go over which collaborations are coming up, what content you want to produce for them, and which open questions still need to be cleared with the clients. Afterwards, it’s documented who takes on which task and by when.
That’s why a good jour fixe has a short list of topics and ends with concrete agreements. Your questions and concerns belong on that list too – the meeting is a space for a two-way exchange.
