DIETS
A diet is a deliberately adjusted way of eating, for example for medical reasons or to change body weight. Nutrition plays an important role in a model’s day-to-day life: long shoot days, travel, and changing working hours demand energy, focus, and a reliable supply of nutrients.
A balanced diet supports health and well-being. Varied meals with vegetables, fruit, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and plant oils, complemented by suitable protein sources, provide a good foundation. Drinking enough is part of it, too. The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends a predominantly plant-based food selection for adults.
Especially on the go, a little planning helps: a whole-grain sandwich, fruit, nuts, or a prepared meal can bridge long waits between castings. For productions, it’s worth asking about catering and meal breaks in advance and mentioning any allergies or intolerances. Eating and drinking should naturally have their place in the daily schedule.
There is no one-size-fits-all “model diet.” Individual needs depend on age, activity level, and health, among other things. Meal plans from social media or from other models therefore can’t simply be adopted. Enjoyment and personal preferences are also part of a way of eating that fits your life in the long term.
Body measurements, casting requirements, and comments about appearance can create pressure. Highly restrictive diets can contribute to the development of an eating disorder, although the causes are varied. If food, weight, or fear of certain foods increasingly dominates everyday life, early support from a doctor or psychotherapist is advisable.
Important for models: Discuss individual nutrition questions with a qualified nutrition professional. Requirements from agencies or clients are no substitute for health advice.
