HAIR MODEL
A hair model showcases hairstyles, hair colors, styling techniques, or hair care products. The focus is on the hair and the effect it creates. Hair models are booked for advertising campaigns, photo shoots, videos, hair shows, trade fairs, and training sessions, for example.
Depending on the job, the hair is styled, cut, or colored. While a shoot may only call for a specific look, a hair show can involve more significant changes. Not every hair modeling job automatically includes a new haircut.
Long, healthy natural hair can be a real booking advantage. For certain productions, clients specifically look for models with their own hair, without extensions or hairpieces. This can be decisive, especially when hair care products, natural hair movement, or specific cutting and coloring techniques are being showcased.
There are numerous shows, trade fairs, product presentations, and training events around hair that require hair models. On top of that come beauty and hair campaigns. These jobs can pay well, especially for larger advertising productions. Actual pay, however, depends on the job, the time commitment, and the agreed image usage; not every show or training job offers a high fee.
Requirements vary by project. Different hair lengths, colors, and textures are in demand – short, curly, or gray hair can also be exactly the look a client is after.
Important for models: Before you accept, clarify what changes are planned and state your limits. Time commitment, pay, and image usage should also be settled in advance. If you are represented by an agency, coordinate major changes with them, as they can affect your future bookings.
