CHAPERONE
A chaperone is a companion and supervisor who supports models or performers – especially minors – at castings, photo shoots, film shoots, and appearances. Depending on the assignment, the duties include supervision, making sure breaks are observed, and protecting personal boundaries. Whether parents may take on this role or a specially licensed chaperone is required depends on the country and the production. In the UK, for example, special requirements for supervision and for licensing chaperones apply to child performances that require a license.
If you are booked as an underage model, or accompany a young model as a parent, ask the agency in advance who will be responsible for supervision on set. A chaperone is there to make sure breaks are kept and no one crosses your boundaries, and can step in when something isn't right. Speak openly with that person if anything makes you uncomfortable.
