CHOREOGRAPHY
Choreography describes the deliberate planning and staging of models’ movements, sequences, and positions – whether on the runway, in front of the camera, or in moving image formats. It’s not about classic dance steps, but rather controlled, aesthetic movements that appear effortless and natural to the viewer.
On the catwalk, choreography encompasses, among other things, the walk, the timing of the entrance, turning points, and the interplay with other models. In photo shoots and campaigns, movements, poses, and transitions are consciously controlled to ensure they are repeatable and visually coherent. Similarly, much of what appears spontaneous in social media content is actually carefully planned and staged.
Choreography ensures that productions run efficiently, images appear harmonious, and the desired effect is achieved with the audience. Therefore, good models are distinguished not only by their looks, but also by their ability to execute movements precisely while still appearing authentic.
