A red flag is a warning sign indicating that something might be problematic, risky, or unsafe. Originally from seafaring, where red flags warned of danger, the term is now used liberally – in relationships, at work, and in everyday life.

In an agency context, a red flag is meant to protect models from making hasty decisions and highlight dangers that new faces, in particular, may not yet be able to properly assess.
